About

The Wayne Free Public Library Foundation was founded in 2015 to support the Wayne Public Library. The Foundation is dedicated to generating ideas, assisting the Library in building its collection and resources, offering programs for patrons of all ages and enhancing the library's ability to better serve the ever-growing needs of our community. Our goal is to bring our community together by providing forums and special programs of interest to all. We intend to make the library our town center where literary, arts, technology and social as well as political activities are engaged. We strive to nurture a love for learning and a stronger sense of community. We do this by securing and managing donations from individuals, businesses and foundations who believe in supporting the library above and beyond what public funding provides.

The Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 organization governed and managed by a volunteer board of directors.

"I had found my religion: nothing seemed more important to me than a book.

I saw the library as a temple."

from The Words: The Autobiography of Jean-Paul Sartre
